Hospitality Management Department

Hospitality Management is a program offered at IPRC Karongi in Hospitality Management Department. It is one of our Advanced Diploma program with which students are equipped with range of hands-on skills in four trades:

  • Culinary Arts

  • Food and Beverage Services

  • Front Office Operations

  • Housekeeping Operations

CULINARY ARTS

In Culinary Arts trade, students learn to prepare food, how to make recipes and create their own. We do nurture professionals at the labour market and help them advance in their career path. Doors of Professional Kitchens are open to the graduates upon their graduation from our Hospitality Management Program.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVICES

As Food and Beverage Services is all about preparing for service and serving food and beverages, our students in Hospitality Management are capacitated with numerous services skills in this field such as table settings, various equipment used in service, types of menus, types of service operations, food garnishes and accompaniments, and various standard operating procedures followed by food and beverage service business. This tutorial teaches basic terms used in food and beverage service domain.

FRONT OFFICE OPERATIONS

In Front Office Operations we provide students with skills to efficiently and smoothly run the entire front desk operations. They are trained on answering telephones, directing calls, greeting guests, and making sure they have a positive experience. Our graduates from Hospitality Management go out with skills required for employment in a receptionist, front office just to name few.

HOUSEKEEPING OPERATIONS

Most of the time, it is said that Housekeeping takes pride in creating a “Home away from Home”. With Housekeeping Operations, we train our students about all essential areas of room maintenance and cleaning in hotel so that guests can always feel comfortable to stay longer, come again and recommend fellows.

The trade includes room preparation and cleaning, bed-making process, bathroom cleaning, cart preparation, stocking of linen, operations of Laundry, cleaning of other hotel areas among others. All these make our Hospitality Management graduates confident in the needs of housekeeping and stand out in competitive job industry.
