IPRC Karongi in collaboration with Swisscontact, the major partner in promoting TVET within the Western Province, has organized a four days workshop to train trainers on Competence Based Assessment (CBA) and the integration of ICT in students’ evaluation.
The workshop is to be conducted in two groups whereby the first group has started this Tuesday the 21st July, 2020 and will close on Friday the 24th July, 2020. The second group is scheduled to start from Monday the 27th July and will close on Friday the 31st July, 2020.
It is with the aim to provide trainers with skills in assessment composition based on module content, skills in ICT tools used in assessing students, and to share their experiences on challenges they face in teaching and learning process as well as in pedagogical documents preparation.
The training is targeting at least 91trainers beneficiaries. The latter are teaching staff from IPRC Karongi and other six TVET Schools sponsored by Swisscontact in the Western Province. All of the participants are motivated to take part in the training and are very eager to raise their Competence Based Assessment skills.
As the training is being conducted face to face, before the training start, all participants were warned to abide by measures to contain the COVID-19 Pandemic. All facilities to comply with social distancing and frequent hand washing were put in place. Each group is divided into two classes and hand sanitizers and hand wash water tap with clean water and soap are available at the entrances and inside classrooms as well as restaurants.
